Dry Hair:
People with long hair need to treat it with special care or it can get strawlike," says Ken Paves, an L.A. hairstylist whose clients include Jennifer Lopez. To do: Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner (on ends only) every other day. Rinse with water alone on off days. Avoid heat-styling (blow-drying, flat-ironing) as often as possible, but if you must, prep hair with a protective spray, such as Charles Worthington Results Stay Cool Spray, first. Another tip: When you're at the beach, spread some of the sunscreen you use on your body through your hair so that it doesn't dry out and get crispy. There are shampoos for normal hair, egg shampoos to add sheen to dry hair, and lemon shampoos to cut extra oils in oily hair. There are hypoallergenic shampoos for sensitive scalps, medicated sham for scalp problems, and special shampoos for tinted or bleached hair.

Combination Hair:

Combination Hair:
Use products that have only a gentle action on the hair. Excessive use of formulations for oily hair and those for dry hair may contribute to the problem.
Ideally use a product specially designed for combination hair. If this is not possible try using a shampoo for oily hair and finish by applying a conditioner only from the middle lengths to the ends of the hair.
